Straight from the AFL grounds to the music studio.
This novelty ‘shouty rap’ song from high profile AFL player Mark ‘Jacko’ Jackson pushed him even further to stardom when I’m An Individual was released in 1985.
With self-indulgent lyrics and a stereotypical 80s rock bed underneath, along with Jacko attempting to dance around the streets – but ends up swinging his arms around like he was airboxing – the track managed to get to Number three on the Australian music charts. He did extend his 15 minutes of fame to release another track Me Brain Hurts, but was not as successful.
However, his contract with Energizer batteries kept his celebrity status going through to the mid 1990s.
