It’s sports fever as 1993 is the year that Australia wants to host the 2000 Olympic Games. The contestants are up for battle as Beijing is promising to go in for the bid fighting hard. But, lucky for the sunburnt country, Sydney wins the rights to host the games.
Singer, actor and songwriter Genevieve Davis came to the party to celebrate the victory by releasing a powerful song, highlighting the uniqueness and beauty that is Australia, with Sail Down To Australia. Written and produced by Robbie Porter, Genevieve performed the song to a 75,000 strong crowd at the time of the winning announcement at Circular Quay.
The powerful classical pop ballad entered the ARIA charts at Number 93, reaching as high as Number 38 over five weeks.
