The unremarkable talent of musical maestro Danny Elfman is always something to be amazed by.
While making a blip on the radar with 70s new wave band Oingo Boingo – especially with the hit “Weird Science“, it wasn’t until Elfman stepped into the world of television and movies, where he has created iconic themes that we all know and love since our childhood.
With a bunch of awards under his belt, he composed music with Director Tim Burton‘s films (Pee Wee’s Big Adventure, The Nightmare Before Christmas, Batman etc), Sam Raimi (Spider-Man etc), and many more. But the most iconic (in my opinion) is putting together the theme of The Simpsons.
Even better, Elfman hit the stage at the annual Coachella festival to do live renditions of Batman, Spider-Man, The Nightmare Before Christmas and Alice In Wonderland, but shredded the guitar for the theme of everyone’s favourite animated family.
And if you don’t like The Simpsons (get out and close the door), here’s Elfman with The Nightmare Before Christmas – reenacting his moments from the movie of Jack Skeleton… because, you know, Chris Sarandon did the acting and Elfman did the singing… but you knew that.
