With the surprise news that Australian artist Gotye hit number one of the Australian Music charts with his single Somebody That I Used To Know, it’s a different style of tune which isn’t all that ear-catching like the token disposable pop music that’s out today (Lady Gaga, anyone??)
However, after listening to the somewhat mellow tune, I looked up the artist who was featured with Gotye – Kimbra.
Her music already has received major online exposure by US gossiper Perez Hilton, which didn’t hurt at all. The fairly young New Zealand born singer has very mind-blowing tunes already set up and ready to go. Described as a fusion of jazz, folk, pop and soul, Kimbra‘s currently released singles are extremely catchy. Even if the first 30 seconds may put you off, wait until you get to the chorus of the songs.
