INXS Celebrate 40 Years #INXS40

written by Matt Fulton October 5, 2017

One of Australia’s greatest pub bands hits a new milestone.

It’s been 40 years since in a Sydney pub band consisting of brothers Andrew, Jon and Tim Farriss, Garry Gary Beers and Michael Hutchence became household names – INXS.

With 12 studio albums under their belt, sell-out concerts, the tragic death of lead singer Hutchence in 1997, a successful reality TV series to find a new lead singer in 2004, Australia was stunned when INXS randomly pulled up stumps after opening for U.S. singer Rob Thomas at Perth Arena in 2012 after 35 years. In 2014, Channel Seven screened a two-part telemovie which rated its socks off.

Fast forward to October 5th 2017, with an announcement of a couple of anniversaries for INXS:

  • It is the 40th anniversary since the birth;
  • It’s been 30 years since their most successful studio album – 1987’s Kick – hit the shelves.

Remixed and remastered in the newly built Abbey Road Studios, Kick has gone through a complete production overhaul to hear every single nook and cranny which plans to give you, the listener, a fresh perspective of the classic album.

INXS – Kick 30 – 3 Disc + Blu Ray set is available to pre-order now at your local music retailer.
