“I was alone, I was all by myself..”
I loved Green Day in my teens. They were my version of Sex Pistols before I actually understood the fucked up world of The Sex Pistols, then realise Green Day was a little more friendlier. But as I mature with age (totally in my early 30s) I lost a bit of the passion that goes with the modern punk rock, but I savour the flavours of yesteryear.
Muso Kye Smith and his YouTube channel Something About Drums has possibly re-ignited the passion for Billy Joe, Tre Cool and Mike Dirnt again, mashing together 50 skin-stick-smacking songs in chronological order into 5 minutes of audio pleasure. From 1039 to ¡Uno! ¡Dos! ¡Tré! , the main tracks are there.
But then I realise I’m a little out of date – I haven’t even listened to their ¡Uno! ¡Dos! ¡Tré! collection… hell, I didn’t even know it came out until a year ago.
Time for my epsom salt bath and tea.
