A trend in the Australian TV landscape is for a soap star transition from a TV show to the music studio, riding the popularity they have with being in the spotlight. E Street star Toni Pearen made a name for herself appearing as Toni Windsor in the show when she began in 1989. In 1992, Pearen left E Street to pursue her music career with modest success.
Pearen’s debut track In Your Room rode the ARIA charts all the way to Number 10, cementing herself as a household name. The video clip has all the hallmarks of the early 1990s.
