The teaser for the biopic on the musical legend has been released.
And my gum – it looks delicious!
Daniel Radcliffe plays the lead role of “Weird Al” Yankovic, the comedian who is iconic for his musical parodies, and known for his mean piano accordion playing.
As mentioned previously when the news was announced in early 2022, Weird looks to show his rise to fame, with the teaser showing Radcliffe nailing the role with the looks and mannerisms of Yankovic to the tune of Yankovic’s Like A Surgeon – a parody of Madonna’s Like A Virgin. So it appears the spotlight will be on the 1980s of Yankovic’s life, at least.
While it’ll be available on Roku in the fall of 2022 the U.S., no word on Australian accessibility as yet.
