GANGgajang – Hundreds Of Languages (1994)

by Matt Fulton March 21, 2017
written by Matt Fulton March 21, 2017

Newsreaders and Journalists of the time feature in this classic track from GANGgajang.

In 1994, pop rock group GANGgajang released their third studio album Lingo, featuring thirteen tracks – more notably the song Hundreds Of Languages.

Other than the catchy rhythm, the music video stood out more than anything else. In an interview-esque form, television personalities of the newsrooms of commercial and government channels appear, lip-syncing to the lyrics of the song that discusses the various languages used by indigenous people over generations.

Personalities appearing:

  • ABC’s Richard Morecroft
  • Channel 10’s Anne Fulwood
  • ABC’s George Negus
  • SBS’s Mary Kostakidis
  • Channel 9 Wide World Of Sports’ Darrell Eastlake
  • Channel 9’s Jeff McMullen
  • Channel 7’s Stan Grant
