Newsreaders and Journalists of the time feature in this classic track from GANGgajang.
In 1994, pop rock group GANGgajang released their third studio album Lingo, featuring thirteen tracks – more notably the song Hundreds Of Languages.
Other than the catchy rhythm, the music video stood out more than anything else. In an interview-esque form, television personalities of the newsrooms of commercial and government channels appear, lip-syncing to the lyrics of the song that discusses the various languages used by indigenous people over generations.
Personalities appearing:
- ABC’s Richard Morecroft
- Channel 10’s Anne Fulwood
- ABC’s George Negus
- SBS’s Mary Kostakidis
- Channel 9 Wide World Of Sports’Â Darrell Eastlake
- Channel 9’s Jeff McMullen
- Channel 7’s Stan Grant
