Recent activity by NBC has resulted in the cult favourite comedy sitcom series Community being bumped from the mid-season schedule. Usually when this happens, it’s due to low ratings and tinkers on the edge of being axed. So far, the show has not been cancelled, just postponed / delayed / re-scheduled to play later on in 2012. This is to make way for 30 Rock to make a return, having being delayed due to Tina Fey‘s pregnancy, and other comedy shows to be given a chance.
However, this move has sparked outrage, with fans hitting the internets to express their worries and concerns that this far too intelligent comedy will face the Arrested Development treatment and be terminated after three seasons. While nothing is cemented with a definite axing at this present time, it is quite possible something like it may happen. Even with cast and crew joining the force of fans in making sure the show stays alive, you can join the support on twitter, using the #Community hash-tag, as well as the #SixSeasonsAndAMovie hash-tag – a reference to Abed’s fascination with the ill-fated superhero action show The Cape, which was canned after one season in 2010… on NBC.
Other ways of showing support for the show is by adding an evil felt beard to your avatar on Twitter and Facebook.
