Binge on the ARIA Award Archives

Crowded House. TISM. Wendy Matthews. Powderfinger. Dave Graney. Regurgitator. Peter Andre.

Those are just some of the names that have been nominated or have won an award from the Australian Record Industry Association. Its launch in 1983, the first award ceremony was presented in 1987, with international star Elton John as guest. Click here for a pre-written history and video of the presentation. Since then, hundreds of awards have been handed out to praise the hard work and effort of Australian recording artists from various music genres. It’s Australian music’s night-of-nights!

The ARIAs, in conjunction with YouTube Music, will host the 33rd ceremony live from The Star Sydney and broadcast on the Nine Network on Wednesday 27th November, 2019.

While each year, criticism overshadows the presentation due to us – the audience – music tastes changes and evolves to the point where everyone now has a voice thanks to social media, you can now express your “this bedroom DJ is shit! Play some Barnesy!” tweets by sharing high quality archival video from the official ARIA YouTube page.

TISM pissfarting about in the lift with Michael Veitch, Merril Bainbridge, Richard Stubbs, Tony Martin and Mick Molloy in 1995?

and.. Peter Andre.

So just click here, subscribe as they upload more content and get ready for the young’uns to ask, “Who the fuck is Frente?”
