When X-Files meet Men In Black

The truth is out there. But you’ve probably been neuralysed and forgotten all about it. Unless it’s been deepfaked.

Fans of The X Files will know that throughout 11 seasons and 2 movies, Agent Mulder (David Duchovny) is always seeking the truth to extraterrestrial life and government conspiracies, while his partner-in-crime Agent Scully (Gillian Anderson) remains the skeptic or ‘bullshit artist’ – unless she witnesses it herself. But Scully is always trying to debunk everything and drag Mulder into some type of reality.

Then there’s the Men In Black – the secret government agency that’s so secret, that Mulder and Scully don’t even know about them. Agents J (Will Smith) and Agent K (Tommy Lee Jones) cover any alien culture up to avoid any exposure to the general public. Just like giant cockroaches.

But what happens if the two worlds collide? YouTube account CTL SHIFT FACE has taken the CGI technology deepfake – which is superimposing faces onto other people (like Face/Off but with less blood) and imagined a world where Mulder and Scully joined the universe of the black suits.

Here’s the original Men In Black scene for comparison, with original actors Vincent D’Onofrio and Siobhan Fallon Hogan.
