American indie rock band Weezer – the guys known from the music clip on your Windows 95 CD-ROM – are known to churn out a really cool rock cover. Especially recently where fans encouraged them to do a cover of daggy retro rock band Toto‘s Africa, with hilarious results.
Now, only hours ago when we’ve rushed to post this, Weezer have dropped a new album – purely based on classic pop and rock tracks ranging from the 60s to the late 90s.
The Teal Album – a cheeky ribbing at the colour and fashion that saturated the 1980s era, contains 10 tracks, ranging from Eurythmics, TLC, Black Sabbath, Michael Jackson, Ben E King and ELO. And it’s all available to stream now. Free.
You can also buy The Teal Album on iTunes here.
Now, Weezer – do a cover of Daryl Braithwaite – The Horses!
