This just in and how fantastic! Simon Pegg stars in the film adaptation of the book: Hector and the Search for Happiness. Although I have not read the book yet it has officially made it to the top of my “must read before the movie comes out” list. This is a story about Hector (Simon Pegg) a psychiatrist who comes to the realization that his patients are not getting better, and his life has hit a wall of painful un-enjoyment and level of boredom that no one should have to live with. In an effort to breathe life back to his…. life he decides to travel the world in a quest to find Happiness!
This totally reads like the male version of Eat, Pray, Love; hope that does not turn anyone off to it. Personally I really liked Eat, Pray, Love the movie… what can I say I love feel good movies that have happy endings, and lets face it there is no way a movie with the word “Happiness” in the title is going to end sad right?
In addition to my favorite Simon Pegg, this movie has a great all-star cast including: Rosamund Pike (Pride and Prejudice) as Clara, Toni Collette (The Sixth Sense) as Anges, Stellan Skarsgård (The Girl with a Dragon Tattoo) as Edward, Jean Reno (Léon: The Professional) as Diego, and the great Christopher Plummer (A Beautiful Mind) as fun Professor Coreman.
I am very much looking forward to seeing this movie, and I secretly hope Nick Frost makes even the tiniest appearance. Currently due in Theaters August 15th in the UK, and September 19th of this year in the US.
