Review: The Solicitors – Help Me Forget

They're planning to sue each other over who wears the tie the best.

They’re planning to sue each other over who wears the tie the best.

Pick a nationality. Go on.

As long as it is between English, Aussie, Kiwi, and a Yank.

Now pick another three.

Forget it, we’ll do it for you.

The multicultural diversity of the four combined make The Solicitors, a hipster new wave band freshly brewed from Melbourne. With one EP still fresh from the November 2013 presses under their belts, their new indie single Help Me Forget is ready to go to start 2014 with something they’d actually like to properly remember.

Help Me Forget is one of the most pleasant and non-offensive pop-punk tracks that could easily please the ear canals of any personality. With the smart-dressed suits and shirts, you could mistake their music style as the bastard offspring to Elvis Costello. Dare I say, inspiration comes to mind without trying to prod any further.

If Help Me Forget floats your boat, the single will be released Friday 10th January through Triple J Unearthed‘s site. Bonus: If you’re floating around Melbourne that doesn’t involve that building with those machines that chews down money, you can check them out at The Ding-Dong Lounge on the same night.

The Solicitors – Help Me Forget. Debut album out soon around May.

Site: www.thesolicitors.org <- check out their Made To Measure EP available to stream. It’s pretty neat.
