A staple show of the Gen X – Gen Y crossover is getting some love.
It’s been 20 years since a bunch of teens in the 1990s would wake up from their underage drinking parties from the night before and watch a fantastic music show first thing in the weekend morn to head-bang in the lounge room.
Such was life.
ABC have decided to give some love to the 3 hour music show Recovery – a magazine music show promoting local and international acts in the rock, alternative and indie scene – a new lease in life.
The “who’s who” of the ’90s era would shred their music tones to many pubescent teens for breakfast, hosted by Dylan Lewis and Jane Gazzo and a cast of many, such as movie reviewer Leigh Whannell (Saw, Insidious) and “The Enforcer” Angus Sampson (Greeks On The Roof, Insidious).
Spiderbait, Jebediah, Weezer, Custard, TISM, Dandy Warhols, Metallica and many, many more graced the ABC studios from 1996 to 2000.
Any repeats of the show would appear on Rage during retro month or themed episodes, as well as rusty VHS clips on YouTube.
To celebrate 20 years since the birth year, Recovery – 20th Anniversary Album is due out November 4 – containing 2 DVDs and 2 CDs full of goodness.
