Detroit is finally getting a new RoboCop!Â
The official trailer for the 2014 RoboCop has finally been released and people are buzzing about it. Locally (Detroit), so far reviews of the trailer seem to be positive overall with little bits of skepticism, which is not too bad considering a statue of the first RoboCop is just about finished, (privately funded of course).  On its anticipated release date it will have been 27 years since Detroit’s badass cop has been on the job, but will this version stand up to the beloved 1987 original?
So far things are looking good from behind the scenes. Writers Michael Miner and Edward Nuemeier are both again part of the writing team. There is an all-star cast: with Joel Kinnaman (Alex Murphy/ RoboCop),  Gary Oldman (Dr. Dennett Norton), Michael Keaton (Raymond Sellars), Abbie Cornish (Clara Murphy), Jay Baruchel (Pope)… oh and SAMUEL L. JACKSON as Pat Novak!
RoboCop again looks pretty cool! The suit does though look a little Dark Knight-ish  for my taste, don’t get me wrong it is a cool suit, it just does not seem as though they really stretched the imagination on this one, also the red light on the face mask reminds me a great deal of KITT from Knight Rider, not exactly bad just not that original looking. Despite this I am for sure looking forward to this Reboot of RoboCop, the trailer definitely gives the impression we are in for a little more than the classic, “Come quietly or there will be… trouble.” I seriously hope there is LOTS of trouble this time around!
Anyhow, check it out! Judge for yourself:
