Doug Mulray – Werewolf (1993)

by Matt Fulton October 10, 2016
written by Matt Fulton October 10, 2016

Mulray used to be a Werewolf babyyyy….

In 1993, everyone’s favourite radio ‘Reverend’ ‘Dr’ Doug Mulray was burning up the Sydney airwaves in Triple M. With a rich radio history of pushing the limits of quality and taste while running a successful breakfast show, Mulray had released a few comedy albums since his heydays at ABC’s Double J.

Not long after he cemented himself as the quickest show to be taken off TV in history in 1992 (more on that in a future post), he released a comedy album Nice Legs Shame About The Fez – a compilation of comedy sketches from the radio breakfast show. One of these tracks, was a song about being hairy and other stuff the body goes through with changes.

The song? Werewolf.

The CD single contained four tracks:

1) Werewolf

2) Burp For You – a parody of John Farnham’s Burn For You

3) Werewolf – extended version

4) Werewolf – karaoke

While a catchy number to promote the comedy album, the song entered the ARIA Charts in November 1993 and didn’t get above position 77.

Both Werewolf CD single and comedy album Nice Legs Shame About The Fez can only be found on eBay or any good second hand record exchange stores.
