Ok we all can agree that over the last few years Robert Downey Jr. films have not disappointed us from Iron Man to Due Date and now to Sherlock Holmes. The first one is a classic and can also agree that Guy Ritchie set the bar pretty high to top for the sequal A Game Of Shadows, especially when your dealing with a character as iconic as Prof. James Moriarty.
But I can tell with 100% guarentee that A Game Of Shadows will not disappoint you at all. The story is so rich and fresh that you’ll longing for it continue well after the credits have rolled. Robert Downey Jr. reprises the role of Sherlock and does a marvelous job and it is really his best portrayel of character to date, right behind Tony Stark from the Iron Man series of coarse.
Back for round 2 is Jude Law as Sherlock’s right hand man Dr. John Watson who is just as marvelous as Robert and shows us again that he is a leading man. Kelly Reilly is also back as Watson’s love interest, who I am glad to see has a bigger role this time around and gives us a reason to look out for her in the future. Rachel McAdams is also back portraying the all very cunning love interest for Sherlock, Irene Adler.
New to the cast is Naoomi Rapace, who may recognize in her break through role in the swedish versions of The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo trilogy, who makes the film that much more intriguing. Now. The most important character besides Sherlock and Watson is Sherlock’s ultimate rival, Professor James Moriarty who is greatly played by Jared Harris and I can guarentee you that his performance as the great Prof. doesn’t disappoint.
Everything about this film is truely incredible, to the intriguing locations, to the depth and richness of te story, to the marvelous cast and portrayels. I can guarentee you that you won’t leave the cinema disappointed and that when you do you’ll be longing for them to release the third in the trilogy. But for now enjoy A Game Of Shadows and once again marvel at Roberts excellent portrayel of the brillant detective.
