HartmanStarIt  finally happened.

The legendary comedian, actor and artist Phil Hartman has been given a posthumous star on Hollywood’s Walk of Fame.

After the world tragically lost this pour soul in a murder in 1998, dedicated family, friends and fans have worked to keep his spirit and humour alive.

After years of hard work and determination to make the dedication come true, brothers John and Paul Hartmann, as well as Angel Rosenthal and many others were able to achieve a special part on Hollywood’s Walk of Fame on Monday August 26, 2014.

This means that his voice work on The Simpsons as Lionel Hutz, Troy McClure, Lyle Lanley and more, charismatic announcer Bill McNeal on NewsRadio, prime-time player on his years on Saturday Night Live, as well as cameos and movie appearances, finally get the proper recognition it deserves.

The ceremony was presented on the sunny street of Hollywood Boulevard, in front of the New Magic Store, which according to John and Angel, was one of his favourite places to visit. See on Google Maps here.

SNL alumni Kevin Nealon and Jon Lovitz were present to give their heartfelt speeches, while other friends, family and former cast members of Hartman’s work were there in attendence, such as NewsRadio cast member Stephen Root.
