Musical Actors

There are many ‘before they were stars’ moments where Grade A movie and TV stars used to work in fast food stores, retail, sold cars, and the rest. Amazingly, some famous people got their face on TV before your very eyes, without realising. Click on the pictures to see the video on YouTube.

Courtney Cox

Before appearing on Friends, Ace Ventura and Cougar Town, she looked more like a boy, dancing in the light (rather than dark) in Bruce Springsteen’s Dancing In The Dark. Cox is pulled out from stage by The Boss, to strut her stuff in front of the crowd. Fast forward to 2010, and Courtney takes the piss out of the dance in her new hit Cougar Town.

Jennifer Lopez

Back in 1993, this number 1 hit surprised many. Janet Jackson was now bigger than Michael. Her song That’s The Way Love Goes charted all over the world. But, a relatively unknown back-up dancer, by the name of Jennifer Lopez, was shaking her soon-to-be famous booty with another back-up dancer.

Tara Banks

Before Coyote Ugly, strutting her stuff on the catwalk, and her own talk show, a young Tara Banks was morphing into different people while bopping away to Michael Jackson’s Black Or White.

Alicia Silverstone

This early 90s Clueless goddess to Nirvanaesque pubescent boys had many of the young ones swoon over Aerosmith’s Cryin’ video. Alicia appeared to be so popular, she also starred in 2 other of their videos, Amazing and Crazy.

Blair McDonough

Okay, not exactly A Grade celeb, but Australian Big Brother 1 runner-up, turned Neighbours / Sea Patrol actor Blair McDonough played in a garage band Snubrocket, appearing in TISM’s Thunderbirds Are Coming Out. Blink and you’ll miss him.

There’s plenty more, so that should get you started.
