Lifeline Bookfest

Raise money for charity and score a decent book in the process.

Book lovers unite for their passion for… books. But not any type of book.

More of a pre-loved book that needs more lovin’.

Bring in Bookfest.

Since 1989, charity organisation Lifeline gather donated books from across the country and put them all together for a larger-than-life book fair across Queensland.

All types of pre-owned books are available for a very low cost. From the latest $40 thriller that may have only been read once, you might find it available for $3.

A collectors edition hardcover of a rare book which might have a coffee stain on the back, might be $2.

Rex Mossop‘s bio sitting next to Steve Vizard‘s Uncut, showing some wear and tear? $4.

That Paul Jennings’ “Un…” book series with some decent spine creases? $5 total.

Remember that obscure Family Circle magazine from 1984 that you watched your grandmother knit a jumper from? 50 cents.

Isolated territory

All monies raised go towards supporting Lifeline‘s 24 hour crisis support line (13 11 14), Lifeline Suicide Bereavement Groups, the Lifeline post-disaster support program Community Recovery, and UnitingCare Community services across the state. So when you pick up a book to send your mind to another world, you’re also helping out people in need.

What eBook can do that?

Lifeline Bookfest fairs operate at various times of the year, so check https://uccommunity.org.au/bookfest for times, dates and locations.
