Better Call Saul Teaser – Fring is ‘back’

by Matt Fulton January 12, 2017
written by Matt Fulton January 12, 2017

Everyone’s favourite chicken man is back… kinda.

With season 3 of Better Call Saul around the corner, creator Vince Gilligan is pretty vague with the 15 to 30 second promo bits that are released. In this case, the prequel spin-off to the award winning Breaking Bad has a fresh teaser trailer, promoting a fairly iconic villain that clashed head-to-head with the Science teacher turned meth cook Walter White – Los Pollos Hermanos restaurant owner Gus Fring.

With the concept of Better Call Saul following the rise and downfall of White’s dodgy lawyer Saul Goodman, previously known as half decent lawyer Jimmy McGill (Bob Odenkirk), we have slowly seen how McGill/Goodman has added people into his life, such as his cop / vigilante sidekick Mike (Jonathan Banks) nutbag gangsta Tuco Salamanca (Raymond Cruz) and the godfather Hector Salamanca (Mark Margolis). Now, in this … commercial … this hints that season three could see how McGill/Goodman ends up having Fring (Giancarlo Esposito) as a potential client, running a drug lab and using a chicken restaurant to cover his money laundering.

There’s still no official announcement yet at the time of this post when the show returns, but I’m craving some curly fries right about now.

UPDATE: AMC has confirmed that Better Call Saul Season 3 will commence April 10, 2017. I’m guessing too that Stan will have it on April 11, 2017 (which is technically April 10 in the U.S. due to time differences)
