A new Ghostbusters movie is coming

by Matt Fulton January 17, 2019
written by Matt Fulton January 17, 2019

We’ll keep this short and quick, as we’re not like other sites that need to pad out minimum words to fill an article, and won’t throw assumptions around.

For years, we were all hoping for a sequel to the 1984 and 1989 sci-fi comedy horror films Ghostbusters classics starring Dan Aykroyd, Bill Murray, Harold Ramis and Ernie Hudson, in 2016 we got a sideways female reboot under the wings of Paul Feig and the internet ripped it a new one (we loved the film!).

While we lost our geeky mould and spore collector “Egon” Ramis in 2014, and Murray constantly expressing a non-interest in a direct sequel for years (even though Aykroyd, Murray and Hudson appeared in the female reboot as different characters in cameo form) we were all losing hope of any type of new Ghostbusters film, because we are all too stubborn for the mantle to be passed on.

Then BAM! Director Jason Reitman announced he was taking on the reins for a new chapter of Ghostbusters, set in the world of the originals – as mentioned on EW.com.

The cool thing is that Reitman is the son of Ivan Reitman – the Director of the first two.

To show that it is actually happening, a teaser was dropped.

And some important people attached supported it.

Now, the question remains – Will any of the original cast appear?

We’ll find out in 2020.

Stay tuned.
