The future is now. Or it was then. But it’s a fight for survival and bad props.
I’ll try and summarise this as simple as possible.
It’s 1996, and the world is in revolt.
The richer keep getting richer, and the poor become victims for a rich bastard game.
Civilians (or in this case, social deviants) are thrown into camps where they are imprisoned and are eventually released – for sport.
Prisoners are automatically involved in the game of Turkey Shoot – survival of the fittest in the jungle, being hunted by sports persons or the tacky kind, armed with guns, ammunition, and modified vehicles in the attempt to kill their prey. Most amount of kills, wins.
Who will survive?
This schlock horror flick is so cheesy, half the budget was blown instantly when one of the producers literally gambled it away in order to try and double the film budget. Should’ve gone all on red.
Directed by Brian Trenchard-Smith and starring Steve Railsback, Olivia Hussey, Lynda Stoner, Noel Ferrier and the dude from G.P. (Michael Craig), Turkey Shoot is so low grade, it works wonders. It’s a movie best to have on ‘hand’ for a turn-your-brain-off night in.

I give this film – 3 & 1/2 Molly Meldrums.

Try Turkey Shoot (1982) on eBay, or rent via YouTube. Just don’t mistake it for the 2014 remake of the same name.
