While the US has their Comic Con and BlizzCon and AnythingCon, Australia tends to miss out on a lot of hype and popular culture exhibitions. We do have Supanova though, an annual Pop Culture expo that runs in most states, varying each year.
The major stars set to attend the 2011 Brisbane convention were Christopher Lloyd (Back To The Future) and Julie Benz (Dexter), but both had to pull out due to work and time conflicts. So, we were left with Tom Felton (Harry Potter), Charisma Carpenter (Buffy) and a range of Sci-Fi stars you could pick a scab at. Other stars slated to appear, such as Simon Pegg & Nick Frost, will appear in the Melbourne show later on in 2011. Check the Supanova link above for more info.
We thought of trying to do something different as well. Instead of taking photos and walking around, staring at all the CosPlay that surrounded the crowd, we threw a little doco together.
