Is This Best Simpsons Reference Ever?

by Matt Fulton January 11, 2017

Everything is animated until you actually do it.

If you are a fan of the yellow animated family The Simpsons for the last 28 years of your life, you’re doing well for yourself and know that it’s your life mission to insert any reference to jokes from episodes into real life.

But one fan has done an impressive reference that takes the cake.

Well… not quite what I meant, but see what I did there?

Über Aussie Simpsons nerd Tim Dunlop flew from Sydney to Lapland for holiday to check out the Aurora Borealis / Northern Lights. While there, he took a photo of his view of the wonderful natural marvel of the world, with something special to make it more Simpsonic… a STEAMED HAM.

How amazing is that?

Now, if you’re unsure of the reference, let me refer to you the year of 1996, Season 7 Episode 21 of The Simpsons, titled 22 Short Films About Springfield. Centralising on Principal Skinner’s lunch date with Superintendent Chalmers, where Skinner is preparing a meal and accidentally burns it in the kitchen, trying to convince Chalmers it’s not what he thinks it is.

So, next time you head to the Northen Lights for the view, take a steamed ham along and enjoy.
