Having remixes or covers of television theme songs is nothing new, but if done in a imaginative way, can trigger a flashback of nostalgic memories.
Between 1991 to 1993, Channel 9 screened the childrens science fiction series The Girl From Tomorrow – Alana (Katharine Cullen) a girl from the year 3000 living in a dystopian world, sent back to the year 1990 to help learn the ways of avoiding the earth from being destroyed. Whilst in the year 1990, she is adopted by The Kelly family, and also defend for her life and save the earth from Silverthorn – a villian from the year 2500.
The Girl From Tomorrow ran for 2 seasons and was hugely popular internationally, especially in Ireland. But it must’ve had a soft spot for YouTuber Mari Sorngard, who has taken it upo herself to arrange the theme song on the harp, giving the theme a more soft, angelic tone.
You can watch the two seasons legally on ACTF’s YouTube channels. Season One and Season Two.
