Pandemics bring out the best and worst of us. You can use the downtime to finish those books you’ve been putting off, binge everything on your favourite streaming service, or re-create the opening credits to a retro TV show.
Bring in Isolation Creations – a duo featuring UK actors Jamie Honeybourne and Alan Gibbons, who are being proactive during a shutdown by turning their household into a production studio to make YouTube videos based on TV shows we love.
In this particular case, they put the spotlight on the Australian classic A Country Practice – the iconic drama that ran from 1981 to 1994. The show itself has been receiving a fresh pair of eyes due to the pandemic, with the series popping up on 7Plus and boxsets being released.
Anyway, Honeybourne and Gibbons take it upon themselves to don bad wigs and costumes to recreate the opening sequence of the series, which is usually a montage of characters staring just off-camera with a smile and a wave.
Molly Jones and Fatso the Wombat couldn’t be more accurate.
