When Hugh Jackman Hugged Andy Lee

One of the coolest moments in Australian TV history gets created on U.S. television.

A really awesome thing happened in The Ed Sullivan Theatre in New York the other day.

While the famous building is currently home to CBS’s The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, Australian actor Hugh Jackman was a guest to promote his new drama The Front Runner and to pay tribute to X-Men and Wolverine creator Stan Lee, who recently passed away at age 95.

As host Stephen Colbert invited Jackman out on stage, he walks to the audience to give Australian comedian Andy Lee a hug, who was sitting in the front row.

From there, it became a huge Australian moment, with a lot of Americans none-the-wiser about what they had just witnessed.

It was made even more sweeter that it was virtually unplanned, as Lee explains in his instagram post.
