2016 marks the 30th year of the Australian Recording Industry Awards aka ARIAs.
Celebrating the best Australian music has to offer, the ARIAs is the flagship event that allows Australia to unite and be proud of the local talent, no matter the musical tastes. The first ever award presentation was in 1987 with international star Sir Elton John hosting the event, giving awards to artists of the time like INXS, Crowded House and John Farnham.
There has been very eventful moments every year, from breathtaking performances, questionable wins, and exposure of certain body parts. In this post, we take a trip to 2003 where multi-award winner John Farnham enters the Hall of Fame by performing his chart topping song – and the song that won him many ARIAs in 1987 – You’re The Voice.
Just watch the mic stand there, champ.
