Puns intended with household names promoting pasta sauce.
In the millennial transitional period of 1999 to 2002, Australian pasta sauce maker Leggo’s wanted to show that they could bring the authentic italian range to the everyday Australian household.
In these series of commercials, well-established names were recruited and spoke about preparing a meal using Leggo’s sauces – all in italian.
Some of these names were:
- Actress / model Kate Fischer
- Cricketer Shane Warne
- TV personality Kerri-Anne Kennerley
- Former Prime Minister Gough Whitlam
Each spot was filled with puns and double entendres that would be based around that person’s line of work or social life.
